Atmosphere can be defined as a huge blanket of air surrounding the earth. Our atmosphere is divided into five layers starting from the earth’s surface. These are Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere and Exosphere. The atmosphere is a layer of gases which surrounds the entire Earth. It consists mainly of nitrogen, oxygen, as well as a few other gaseous elements. The purpose of atmosphere is to prevent excessive amounts of radiation from reaching the Earth.
