What is a disease? How can you classify diseases on the duration for which they last? Explain.

Disease is an uncomfortable and unusual condition of the body of an organism which is caused due to some structural or functional disorder.
There are four categories of disease based on duration.
1. Acute disease: Short lived. Example: Common cold.
2. Chronic disease: Lasts long and may reoccur too. Example: Cancer.
3. Refractory disease: Disease that resist treatment, for which complete cure takes time. Example: Chicken pox.
4. Progressive disease: Disease where condition of a patient gets worst till death. Example: Osteoarthritis.
