What is a feudal economy

Dear Student,

The feudal system is a pyramid system, which flourished during the ‘middle ages’ of Europe. It was based on the level of power each mean had. The king was at the top, who gave grants of land to his noblemen called baron.  In return, the noblemen provided troops to the king.

This system was based in a hierarchy of king at the top, followed by baron, then bishop, who was almost equal to the barons. Then came the lords or knights who got grants of land from bishops. And the lowest in hierarchy were peasants who worked upon the lands.

Hope the answer is clear to you. If you have any problems then do write back.
All the best!!

Regards
