What is a nebula ? how does it form stars ?

Nebula are the basic building blocks of the universe. A nebula is a cloud of dust and other ionised gases like helium, hydrogen which is there in between the stars.  Nebula itself means Cloud.  It is formed when portions of space between the stars( also called intersteller space) collapse and clump together due to gravitational force of attraction of the particles.
More than one nebula is called nebulae.
