Very easy,

the word which is used in place of noun is known as pronoun. eg. he, sh, her, his,it etc.

There r many different types of pronoun, but the most important include the personal, the demonstrative, the relative, the interrogative, the indefinite, the intensive, n the reflexive.

pronouns are words which are used instead of nouns .suppose there is an autobiograghy written by Mahatma Gandhi ;we cannot say everytime MahatmaGandhi ;MahatmaGandhi ;Mahatma Gandhi etc; . but instead of that we can just use he which is a preposition. In these cases we should use properly.
