Why are they used??

Dear Student,

Scale on map is the ratio or relationship between the distance of places on a map with the actual distance on the geographical land. 
Scales on the map are used to accurately depict the actual location of places on a map.

Scale of the map if the actual distance of the place shown on the map in fact If you show the India map it was just of 22-35cm button real it will be 1000/cm^2
