What is acceleration due to gravity?

Dear Student,

Acceleration due to gravity is the value by which any substance accelerates while falling freely under the effect of the gravitational force of Earth. It is denoted by 'g'.
Its Value can differ even on different locations of the earth. For examples, Value of g on Poles is different from that on the Equator.
