When rain water falls on the earth, these get mixed up with rain water and make it acidic. The falling down of this rain water on the earth is called acid rain.The gases responsible for this are Oxides of Sulphur mainly sulphur dioxide, Oxides of nitrogen mainly nitric oxide, andCarbon dioxide.
