What is Advantages and disadvantages of Fertilizer?

Advantages of fertilizers
1) They help to provide particular nutrients required by plants ( nutrient specific ) like phosphorous or urea etc.
2) They can have instant effect as compared to manure and thus, can make the soil fertile and rich in nutrients in no time.
3) They increase the yield of crops as well as can speed up their growth as plants are now getting all the nutrients they require to grow, thus, enabling the growing process to take place faster as compared to no use of fertilizers.
Disadvantages of fertilizers
1) As they are water soluble, they can be easily washed away during excess irrigation or rain.
2) They are quite expensive as compared to other sources like manure.
3) Their overuse or prolonged use can lead to complete loss of soil fertility as it devoids soil of it's natural nutrients. etc.
