what is area of trapezium?

Dear Student,
Solution)

Area of trapezium is equal to half of the product of sum of parallel sides and perpendicular distance between them.

Let a and b be the length of two parallel sides and h be the perpendicular distance between them, then

Area of trapezium = a+b2×h
Area of Trapezium = 12 × (sum of parallel side) × (Distance between Parallel side)

For example
The parallel sides of a trapezium are 7cm and 5cm long and the distance between them is 6cm. Find area of trapezium.

Sol:
Area of trapezium = 12x (sum of the length parallel sides) x(distance between them)

  =12x(5+7)x6 cm sq
12x12x6
= 36 cm sq
