What is Biogentic Law? Give two examples from Plant kingdom that support this law.
Biogenetic law or recapitulation theory is proposed by Ernst Haeckel in 1866 that stated that “Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny”. This means that during the embryological development of organisms they pass through the stages or acquired some characters for a while which are the characters of their primitive evolutionary ancestors. Examples in plant include alteration in generation in all types of plants, heteroblastic development etc.
