What is bolting experiment? How can it be induced by which growth regulators?

Bolting is the phenomenon of internode elongation just prior to flowering. It is shown by plants such as beet, cabbages and many others with rosette habitat. It involves the development of flower stalks on a plant. It helps in the early development of the seeds in plants and helps them to reproduce further. But it is disadvantageous in case of agricultural crops cultivated for their vegetative parts, as it diverts all the nutrients of vegetative parts towards flowering. Bolting experiment was performed to check the effect of gibberellins on the internode growth of rosette plants.
Gibberellins is a plant hormone that has been known to promote bolting.
