Cambium is a type meristematic tissue that helps in the secondary growth of stem and root of the plant. It includes: Vascular cambium present between phloem and xylem that produces secondary phloem and xylem and Cork cambium found as part of the periderm that replaces epidermis in stem and roots of plant. 
Cambium is a secondary meristem and is formed from the primary permanent tissues. The primary permanent tissues like
parenchyma tissues regain the meristematic activity and become secondary meristems i.e cambiums.​
