What is cell membrane?

Cell membrane refers to a layer which separates the inside of the cell from the outside. It protects the cell. Sometimes, it is also called Plasma Membrane.

For easier explanation, you can consider cell membrane to be the border or outline of the cell !

Solution: Cells are covered by a thin film like membrane which is called as Plasma membrane or Cell membrane.
It lies outside the cytoplasm and is selectively permeable in Nature.
