What is cinnabar .How is metal extracted from cinnabar .Explain

Cinnabar is the sulphide ore of mercury from which the mercury metal is extracted bye the processes of roasting and reduction. The sulphide or is heated in the presence of oxygen to convert it into oxide ore then further reduction gives the mercury metal and oxygen gas.

Cinnabar is the ore of mercury(HgS).
Hg is extracted by roasting to obtain HgO. It is then reduced using carbon.
