What is corn law

Dear Student
The Corn Laws were measures enforced in the United Kingdom during 1815 and 1846.This law imposed restrictions and tariffs on imported grains.This law was done to facilitate local farmers of United Kingdom.This law was designed to keep grain prices high to favour domestic producers.Corn law got support from rural groups (farmers) whereas faced backlash from urban groups and industrial sectors of United Kingdom.
