What is difference between conventional and non conventional sources

Dear Student,

CONVENTIONAL SOURCES ARE

I. The sources of energy which have been in use for a long time
II. They are exhaustable except water.
III. They cause pollution when used, as they emit smoke and ash.
IV. They are very expensive to be maintained, stored and transmitted as they are carried over long distance through transmission grid and lines.
V. Example- Coal,Petroleum,Natural gas,Water power etc.

NON CONVENTIONAL SOURCES ARE

I. The resources which are yet in the process of development over the past few years.
II. They are inexhaustible.
III. They are generally pollution free.
IV. Less expensive due to local use and easy to maintain.
V. Example- solar energy, wind energy, tidal energy, biogas, nuclear energy, etc.

Dear student,
here is the answer
Conventional sources of energy are the natural energy resources which are present in a limited quantity and are being used for a long time. They are called non-renewable sources as once they are depleted, they cannot be generated at the speed which can sustain its consumption rate.
