what is e.m.f of S.H.E

The standard hydrogen electrode (SHE), is a redox electrode used for comparison of all other electrode reactions. The electrode reaction is given by

2H+(aq) + 2e- H2(g)

Its absolute electrode potential is ~ 4.44 ± 0.02 V at 25 °C, but to use it as reference electrode for comparison with all other electrode reactions, it's standard electrode potential (E0) is arbitrarily taken to be zero at all temperatures. Potentials of any other electrodes are compared with SHE at the same temperature.
