What is ex-situ and in-situ conservations ? Explain with examples.

Ex situ conservation – It is a process of protecting endangered species of plants and animals outside their natural habitat. Zoo and botanical garden are the most common type of ex situ conservation.

In situ conservation – It is the process of conservation of living resources in their natural habitats. It is a type of onsite conservation. The endangered plants and animals are protected inside their natural surroundings. For example, national park, sanctuary etc.
