Dear student, cork cambium is a tissue found in vascular plants. It is responsible for secondary growth in plants. It replaces epidermis in roots and stems. B. Certain epidemals cells in roots are modified to form root hairs which increase the surface area for water absorption. In stems, epidermis can be modified to form tendrils, thorns etc.
