what is greenhouse effect? name any four greenhouse gases and measures to reduce them?

Dear student, Greenhouse effect refers to the steady increase in the temperature of the earth's atmosphere due to the presence of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, chloroflorocarbons, etc. These greenhouse gases form a blanket around the earth, allowing the sun's rays (short wave radiation) to pass through but restricting the passage of reflected heat rays (long wave radiation) from going out of the atmosphere. This results in the trapping of heat within the atmosphere, leading to an increase in temperature. Four greenhouse gases are: methane, carbon dioxide, chloroflorocarbons, nitrous oxide. The only way to reduce green house effect is to plant more and more trees that is Afforestation. Thanks and regards.
