What is Habeas Corpus?

Dear Student 
Habeas Corpus is an important writ provided for in the Indian Constitution. According to Habeas Corpus, the court orders that the arrested person should be presented before it. It can also order to set free an arrested person if the manner or grounds of arrest are not lawful or satisfactory. In simple terms, it is a court order to bring a person in prison before the court to verify that whether the person is being kept in prison legally.
