What is head count ratio and how it is measured numerically? Explain
Dear Student,
Head count ratio measures poverty in terms of absolute number of persons below poverty line. That is, it measures the exact number of persons who are not able to meet the minimum expenditure that is required to satisfy the basic needs.
It’s calculation involves roughly three steps as following-
1.Decide a poverty line.
2.Count number of people living below that line.
3. Use this formula:-
Head Count Ratio = (Total population/number of people living below poverty line)*100.
