What is hydrophobic nature ?

Dear student,

The word philic means loving and phobic means fearing, so Hydrophilic suggests having an affinity for water; readily absorbing or dissolving in water, example - sugar, whereas hydrophobic is repelling, tending not to combine with, or not being able to dissolve in water. example- oils, fats
