What is intron

Dear student
Non-Coding segments in a newly synthesised RNA which are spliced or cut off to form mature RNA is called Intron. They do not code for any amino acids so they are removed in process of splicing. Exon is coding segment of RNA.

introns are the non-coding part of DNA that is not coding for any amino acids.

Intron is the RNA copy of Junk DNA. Like we throw away Junk, THe intron is also spliced (cut) in an RNA. It is not a part of a gene.
