Dear student,

A linear scale is a scale with equal divisions for equal values. for example a metre scale or a ruler comes under the category of linear scale. it is also called a bar scale, graphic scale etc.  In this scale each length is divided into equal divisions. It has applications like in  engineering drawing, maps ,etc.
