What is lonepair of electrons ?

Dear student,

A lone pair is a valence electron pair without bonding or sharing with other atoms. They are found in the outermost electron shell of an atom, so lone pairs are a subset of a molecule's valence electrons. These are less reactive and highly stable.

A lone pair of elections is the free electrons of an atom participating in a chemical bonding that remains unbonded in that particular chemical bonding.
