What is meant by dynamic state of the body constituents?

All the chemical reactions that occur in a living cell or organism constitute metabolism. There is a definite metabolic pathway in the living organisms. These pathways are either linear or circular and they may criss - cross each other. Flow of metabolites through the metabolic pathways has a definite rate & direction. This metabolite flow is called the dynamic state of body constituent.
