what is meant by subject-verb-object strucyure ???

In a sentence, a subject usually comes before a verb while an object comes after it. English language follows the sentence structure S  O V… i.e. Subject-verb-object.

For example: Ram ate an apple.

Now, in a sentence, the verb is the easiest to recognize as it generally shows an action. Here, the verb is ‘ate’.

Before the verb ‘ate’, the subject ‘Ram’ is placed. A subject is what a sentence talks about.

Now, Ram ate what? Ram ate an apple. So, ‘an apple’ is the object.
