what is meant by the regional continuity model and the replacement model ? What arguments do they give in support of their respective theories ?

First let me explain you in simple words

Replacement theory means separating from one specific region to other different regions and adapting accordingly to those regions. For eg.  Regardless of where we have lived for the past few thousand years, we all come from Africa. The earliest members of the
human species, Homo sapiens, can be traced there. Our genetic footprints can be traced back to our African roots. A couple of hundred thousand years ago, some of our ancestors left Africa while others stayed on. While the residents spread across Africa, the migrants slowly spread across the planet.

Regional theory means people coming from different regions, get their features and  gather at a specific place. According to some people our ancestors have not evolved from Africa but have come to Africa from different region.  Hence we find people with different features in Africa.
