What is 'megaspore dyad' ?

Dear student,
Megaspore mother cell divides by first meiotic division to produce megaspore dyad which is a two celled condition. It further undergoes seconfd meiotic division to form megaspore tetrad which is a four celled condition.

After meosis-1 of megaspore mother cell ,it remain at 2-cell condition ,this is called megaspore dyad .

Dyad ovules contain two large cells in place of an embryo sac. The two cells represent the products of a single division of the megaspore mother cell followed by an arrest in further development of the megaspore.
