what is nastic movement?

Nastic movements are non directional responses to stimuli such as temperature and heat. These kind of movements do not depend on direction of stimulus such as seismonastic, chemonastic, etc.

Nastic movements can be both growth-dependent or growth-independent.

Example of growth independent nastic movement is thigmonastic movement by leaves of Mimosa Pudica

Example of growth dependent movement is growth-based epinastic curvature in sunflower petioles.
