What is neuter pronoun?

The pronouns that are not specific to any gender(male or female) are called neuter pronouns. For example:
The pronoun 'he' is specific to male gender, the pronoun 'she' is specific to female gender.
But, the pronouns 'I, we, they, it, oneself, someone, etc' are not gender specific and are neuter pronouns.
