WHAT IS NICHE SPECIALISATION

Niche specialization is a process where evolution, through natural selection, adapts a species to a particular set of abiotic and biotic characteristics within a habitat i.e.to specialize in living in that particular ecological niche. For example, some of the finches are adapted specifically to eat hard nuts, others to eat insects while some others to eat soft berries. Each one is specialized for life in its own niche.
