Non-symbiotic nitrogen fixation​ is a typeof fixation of attmospheric nitrogen, in which bacteria do not require host plant to fix nitrogen.They obtain nitrogen directly from atmosphere and then fix it, increasing the content of nitrogen in soil.
Example of such microorganisms- Azobacter chroococcum, ​Clostridium pasteurianum
