When a trial balance is already provided in the question and the total of debit balances does not match with the credit balances, in that case, there is a need to re-draft (re-make) the trial balance. It is also likely that a trial balance may agree/match but still due to some errors (debit item wrongly recorded as credit item or vice versa) the trial balance is incorrect, here also, it is required to be redrafted to record all items with right debits and credits. Preparing a corrected trial balance after detecting and rectifying the errors is known as redrafting of a trial balance.
