The energy derived from the sun is called solar energy. It is used for various purposes like in operating solar cookers, solar calculators, etc. 

A solar cell is a cell that generates electricity using solar energy.  A solar panel is made by putting together a large number of solar cells with the help of connecting wires in a definite pattern. It is basically used to generate electricity using solar energy.
