What is sulphuric acid reducing to what?
Q.(e). Reducing property of sulphuric acid is used.
H 2 S O 4 ( C o n c . ) + H 2 S   g 2 H 2 O   l + 2 S   ( s ) + S O 2   g

The solution is as follows:

1. Sulphuric acid is reduced to form Sulphur dioxide and Hydrogen sulphide is oxidised to form sulphur element.

2. This is as shown below:

          H2SO4(conc) + H2S(g)  2 H2O (l) + 2S (s) + SO2(g)

             +6                     -2                                 0           +4

Thus, sulphuric acid is oxidising in nature.
