Dear student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query.

Rabindranath Tagore didn’t believe in the education system of the Britishers and so started his own institution, called ‘shantiniketan’ (abode of peace)in 1901. Main features of his institute were:
  1. His school was 100 kilometres away from Calcutta, in a rural setting as he saw it as an abode of peace (santiniketan).
  2. The children would cultivate their natural creativity by living in harmony with nature.
  3. He believed that creative learning could be encouraged only within a natural environment.
  4. Teachers, in his institute, were supposed to be imaginative, understand the child, and help him/her develop their curiosity in a natural manner.
