?What is the boy now, who has lost his ball,
What, what is he to do? I saw it go
Merrily bouncing, down the street, and then
Merrily over ? there it is in the water!?
1) What is the significance of repetition of the word ?what??
2) Why has the poet used the word ?merrily? twice in the stanza?
( The ball poem)

Dear Student,

1) The repetition of the word 'what' shows that the boy's grief over the loss of his ball is too much.
2) The first time the poet uses the word 'Merrily' here is when the ball starts bouncing on the street and the second time it shows that falls in the water when it bounces again.
