  3. Population increase only aggravated this situation.

  5. Improper distribution of the resources and land that are available by the government.
  6. Debts that were incurred by the poor due to the ceremonies, festivals, and other social obligations only added to these causes.

Poverty?refers to the inability to fulfill the basic needs of the life such as food, clothing,shelter and education etc. It is a situation in which people face severe destitution and suffer from misfortune. India suffers from a situation of massive poverty where at least one third of it's population is poor.
