what is the diff. b/w method GIFT and surrogate mother????????????

Hi

GiFT is the abbreviation used for Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer – an assisted reproductive procedure.  It involves removing a woman’s eggs, mixing them with sperm and immediately placing them into the woman's fallopian tube. The process of fertilization takes place in the woman’s body.  This woman can be the donor of the egg or another woman. The woman in the latter case is called the surrogate mother.

So, by definition, surrogate mother is a woman who agrees, usually by contract and for a fee, to bear a child for a couple who are childless because the wife is infertile or not capable of bearing the pregnancy.

Best!

hello.....

i think...Surrogate mothers are the woman who substitues or takes the place of the real mother to nurse the embryo......

bt the procee of GIFT are for those woman who cannot produce ova but can provide suitable conditons/environment for fertilisations and further development of embryo in the ovi ducts.
