what is the difference betweeen cash book and ledger entry of cash account

1. cash book only records cash transactions whereas cash a/c records both cash as well as credit transactions

2.in double and triple column cash book the column of bank and discount is made respectively but in not in cash a/c

3. cash book is journal as well as ledger but cash a/c is not journal.

There's no difference. Cash book is both a principal book as well as a subsidiary book. If cash book is maintained, then ledger account of cash is not prepared. Cash book serves the purpose of both a book of original entry as well as ledger.

CASHBOOK is just like journal and is prepared in place of cash account and bank account that's why the format is ledger is followed
