What is the difference between a scalar quantity and a vector quantity?

Dear students
Scalar quantity
Those physical quantities which have magnitude only.
Example
length ,work ,mass ,volume etc

Vector quantity
Those physical quantities which have magnitude as well as direction.
Example
displacement ,velocity ,acceleration ,force etc.
