- Ashoka and Shihuangdi were both the emperors of their own empire
- Both brought in qualities of their society that are still used today
- Both brought important influential contributions to their empires: Ashoka brought Buddhism to India and Shihuangdi brought standardized measures and unified China and built the great Wall of China
- Both empires dissolved into chaos as soon as their emperors died
- New empires rose from the ashes of the two fallen ones
DIFFERENCES :
- Ashoka used the concept of Buddhism whereas Qin used the concept of Legalism
- Qin's reign lasted a short fourteen years while Ashoka's lasted for thirty six years, a bit longer
- Ashoka's empire changed ruling peoples often, it being constantly conquered, however, Qin's empire just changed successors of the same people
- Religious texts were burned by Qin, while Ashoka converted to Buddhism.
- Qin left a way for his empire to be ruled after he died, but Ashoka didn't plan his out so well, as his empire fell to shambles after he passed.
