Anwesha gave you the answer. An example of distributive property is suppose you want to multiply: 88 X 55, you can do it easily by this method: 88 X (50+5) OR (88 X 50) + (88 X 5).
Associative property gives you the rule that in case of ADDITION & MULTIPLICATION , irrespective of the way you arrange, the answer is same. For e.g.:-
2 X (3 X 4) = (4 X 2) X 3
