what is the difference between labour force and work force?

The term 'workforce' is generally used to describe those working for a single company or industry, but can also apply to a geographic region like a city, county, or state ..for example You could say the workforce of the Tate Company, or the workforce of Chicago etc.

The term generally excludes the employers or management, and implies those involved in manual labour. It may also mean all those that are available for work.

As you say, you know that the labor force of a country (or state etc) consists of everyone of working age (typically above a certain age (around 14 to 16) and below retirement age who are actively employed or looking for work.
