Operating profit is the profit that a firm makes from its regular/normal operations and does not include extraordinary items that do not occur in the normal course of business, in its calculation.

Operating Profit = Sales – Operating Cost 

Net profit is calculated by including extraordinary expenses/income, reducing interest costs, depreciation and taxes from operating income.

Net Profit = Gross Profit – Operating and Non-Operating Expenses + Operating and Non-Operating Incomes
