what is the difference between somatic cell cloning & germinal cell cloning ?

In somatic cell cloning, the nucleus of the somatic cell (having a duplicated gene set) is transferred to the cytoplasm of the an enucleated egg, having its nucleus removed. Then inside the egg the somatic nucleus is reprogrammed by egg cytoplasmic factors to become a fertilized egg. This egg is further developed into to the blastocyst stage. Example of somatic cell cloning was Dolly, the sheep, born in 1996,  which was the first mammal cloned using the Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer.

In germ cell cloning, is done using the germ cells. The only germ cells in human beings are either sperm cells found in men or egg cells found in women, these cells have only one set of gene. The alternation is done on germ cells, this manipulation ii germ line would transferred to the future generations.
