What is the difference between the uses of 'on' 'over' 'above' ?
What is the difference between the uses of 'under' 'beneath' 'below' ?

'On' means that one thing is in physical contact with another- The book is on the table. (kept on the table)

' Over' and 'above' mean 'at a place higher than'. They are interchangeable in many cases.

For example: The birds fly high above the trees.

The birds fly over the garden.

But, 'over' can also imply movement, whereas 'above' can not.

The thief jumped over the wall.

We can not say: The thief jumped above the wall.
